It is that time of the year in California when we hope to get rain. We have been in a drought for many years, so our water resources are pretty bleak. Maybe this year we will get a good soaking. If we do get rain then our dogs are ready for it! We have tried a few raincoat brands over the years, but the one we have now works the best. It is called the Seattle Slicker -how appropriate.
After much research and returns of other raincoats that didn't work, we hit the jackpot with this brand. The Seattle Slicker works because it is made from nylon which holds out the rain. It is also a windbreaker. It has a hoodie to keep the head dry, too. However, Dakota and Carolina don't like the hood up. Maybe your dog will. It also has a reflective strip and pocket. The reflective strip is especially nice at night. The dogs can be seen when cars are approaching. We don't use the pocket, but it could hold poop bags. The biggest advantage of this raincoat being such a winner is the adjustable velcro straps that hold the coat on at the neck and chest. Our dogs are rescue dogs. They are mixed breeds, so they aren't necessarily proportioned correctly. The adjustable straps make the raincoat work perfectly for our odd shaped dogs. You can buy the Seattle Slicker on Doctors Fosters and Smith.
